Who Should Be In The Scanning Business

Most technicians work for concrete cutting/coring companies or scanning/utility locating companies. Some electrical and plumbing companies attempt to do some of their own scanning and/or coring, but they usually give up after a couple fiascos because they don't have the proper training and support. The strange thing is, none of these companies "need" concrete scanning to operate. A cutting/coring company can simply hire out a scanning/utility locating company to do all their scanning - though they lose a lead generator for their cutting/coring services. And many utility locating companies simply don't offer concrete scanning as a service. So who should employ a GPR-C Technician? The answer is: any company that can support them (training, equipment, keeping crayon/paint supplies topped up).

Who shouldn't be in the scanning business

If the reason you're looking into this training is because you think your plumbing or electrical business is paying too much for scanning, and it looks easy, then read "Worker VS Technician". It's not as easy as taking pictures or just reading data on a screen. The data needs to be interpreted. Focus on your own core competencies and outsource the scanning to a company that has does scanning. Turning a employee into a GPR-C Technician only makes sense if they're going to do it on a regular basis. But it doesn't make sense to train a plumber, or an electrician so they scan once a month. Skill fade is real! They'll quickly lose their proficiency after a few weeks and become a worker with a scanner - they either have to get retrained or a lot of stuff's going to get hit!

No good options

If your local options consist of only "workers with a scanner" instead of GPR-C Technicians, OR you have the capacity to support a technician... then this just might be a great opportunity to grow your company, and your bottom line! Our training makes it easy to turn an employee into a GPR-C Technician.
