RadRay Paradigm Simplifies GPR

Our research led to the development of the RadRay Simulator™  that is showcased in the video below.  This simulator makes it easy for the technician to develop a mental model of GPR, without the mystery.

Real World Skills

This training isn't geared towards academics, it's designed with one goal in mind - to improve a GPR-C Technician's performance in the field.

So what's the difference between a "worker with a scanner" and a certified GPR-C Technician?

Worker With A Scanner

  • Can scan the easiest slabs/walls, and blames the rest on the limitations of GPR
  • Makes mistakes that take big bites out of profits
  • Fosters a reputation of incompetence and carelessness

GPR-C Technician

  • Can scan complex slabs/wall by using GPR to its limits
  • Makes it easier for clients, engineers, and cutting/coring technicians to do their job
  • Fosters a reputation of professional competence

The Knowledge Stack

There are 3 knowledge blocks someone needs to become a proficient GPR-C Technician.

Block 1   GPR Fundamentals

It's critical to have a model of how GPR technology works from first principles - how the antenna generates the features (shapes) that make up the images (radargrams) on the screen. This is accomplished with our proprietary RadRay Model™ and RadRay Simulator™.

Block 2   Concrete Structure Basics

Concrete structures is often overlooked or glossed over during training. Yet it's simply impossible to be proficient without it. We begin a general understanding of the structure as a whole, and break it down until we reach the level of structural and service embedments.

Block 3   Procedures

This block applies the 2 blocks above to construct a set of procedures to be followed on site. And more importantly, we teach the why. This way, the technician will have the knowledge and skills to tackle the challenges arising from strange configurations of structural components and embedments that are encountered in the field.
